![]() Few weeks back, I went to Funan to meet up with Ryner and Kenshin_Himura and we found out that FARLE(Funan) has opened another new outlet at level 2. Sitting right in the center of the entrance is the Denon S52DAB. This nifty product is like a all in 1 solution for most people. It has pretty good sound quality... rather warm and engaging with good bass punch. There is also a mono output for you to hook on a subwoofer if you need more bass. I'm pretty tempted to buy it (planning to use it in my toilet) so I can casually stream online radio stations when I want or treat it as a wireless speaker in my toilet broadcasting my music playlist. Best of all, there's a remote control for it! Personal Rating: 8.7/10 Tuner: Internet radio (over 7000 stations available), DAB band III, AM & FM with RDS. Auto scan and auto preset functions with 56 presets. RDS with RadioText, favourite mode for radio stations Networking: Wireless (802.11b/g) and wired (Ethernet) networking Streams Media from networked PC, Mac or server Compatibility: MP3, WMA (Windows Media Audio), AAC (iTunes), FLAC, Wave NETWORKING: - Supports WEP, WPA & WPA2 security - UPnP & DNLA compatible - PC streaming requires Windows Vista or XP with service pack 2. Windows Media player 11 may be required for - UPnP sharing - Sound system: 2 x 10 watts amplification (4 ohms, 1 kHz, 10% THD) - Integrated stereo speakers - Sockets: Mono out (via RCA/phono, intended for connection to subwoofer) - Ethernet networking socket (via RJ45 connection) - Remote control socket (for connection and interactive control to/from other compatible Denon devices) WiFi, FM, AM & DAB antenna sockets TOP: iPod dock connection (for playing iPod music over S-52's speakers with simultaneous charging and remote control of iPod, sorry iPod not included) FRONT: - USB port (for connection of MP3 players, memory sticks and other compatible mass storage devices) - Headphone socket (via 3.5mm stereo minijack) - Stereo (aux) line in (via 3.5mm stereo minijack, for connection of devices such as cassette decks and MP3 players) - Supplied accessories: DAB, FM, AM & WiFi antennas, remote control with batteries (also controls iPod when docked), iPod dock adaptors for iPod Mini & iPod Phono 20/30/40/60 with colour display - Dimension: 380mm x 126mm x 226mm - Weight: 6.7KG Manual: http://www.superfi.co.uk/extras/Denon/Denon_S-52DAB_manual.pdf |
