Yeah, my old audio technica ckm50 died on me (one side no sound) , so I have to part with more money for a new pair of phones :(

What are some of the best earphones i can get for a maximum budget of $100? Of course if its cheaper and good i don't mind either.

I'm the kind of guy that goes more for clarity and nice mid-upper range than a booming bass, in fact, i find that booming basses kind of irritate me :P So which would be the best pair of headphones I could get for this price and where?

Thanks alot ;)

for the budget of within $100, I would recommend the soundmagic PL-30 or maybe crossroad products.

I think we have some communication problem. May I know which currency you're using.
This forum is more Singapore-orientated, that's why we tend take that members here lives in Singapore.

If you're talking about US$100, you can try the Westone um1, Ultimate Ears super.fi 3studio, d-jays and etc

The Soundmagic PL-30's performance to price ratio is really fantastic and IMHO, it beats almost headphones that falls within the SG$200 range.

but the soundmagic looks pretty tacky =X How much is it though? And I heard the mids are hazy and the bass abit strong, how does it compare to crossroad bijou series?
Where can i buy the sound magic ones though? I'm scared of getting cheating at focal price lol

If you're a Singaporean, the westone um1, UE super.fi 3studio and d-jays will not fit your budget.
I bought my soundmagic at focalprice too, so it shouldn't be a problem to purchase them there.

After burning in the Soundmagic for like after 50hours, the mids will mature and it's pretty decent. The bass is not very strong like many described as long as you keep it at the lowest level.

IMHO, I find the Bijou pretty muddy and boomy on the bass side as compared to the soundmagic.

YMMV, so maybe you can head down to jaben and try the crossroad products.

well once you get something in the $100 price range, you will quickly want much better quality. The PL-30 is mediocre at best compared to say the audiotechnicas' or Westone UM2 for $50-$100 more. I will suggest you save your money and get these much superior earphones instead.
Poison is bad, but its so good
