OPA2134 - Gives a lot of warmth in the lower mids and an extra "umph" for the bass. AD8066 - Opens up the sound and gives a lot of texture to the lower spectrum. Both op-amps are more for people who wants more "boost" in their bass. you can also try OPA2107, AD4841-2, AD8656, Intersil 55002C for the signal Path THS4302 and AD8397 for the ground path. |

the switch is long. it boost the ego too the cake is walnut! i like the opa2134 and opa2111. but i got bored of them after awhile and changed to the opa627 and lm7171(incredible slew rate, hopefully nothing bad happens :P) if i am correct, class-A biased opamps needs the buffer to really shine? |

Err. You don't have enough men's ego? I using the D10 with ad744 in Class A. Without EL8201 as buffer, I lost all the bass impact and texture. I'm not sure if it due to the Class A or it the opamp itself.

Hey thanks. Anyone have AD8066, AD743 and AD8397 to spare, can sell to me? I wanna try out how it will sound. p.s, the new interconnect i got helped.. but still not reaching the sound i would like, so hoping that rolling with these new opamps will do it ^^ |

hey i don't know if you guys heard already, but there is a iBasso P3+ amp out there already. The first thing I noticed was that instead of 4 screws at the back, there are now only 2, which makes it 50% easier to access the components! Anyone knows any other difference compared to the P3? Anyway, I wouldn't call P3+ an upgrade but a revision that ibasso made after this modding thread. By simply copying my latest favourite configuration before this thread, you should get something close or identical to the P3+ |

good luck with whatever you are dealing with ![]() i was wondering if the output buffer is placed after the L/R opamp, possible to put resistor there instead of a buffer and hence get an impedance adapter? got the P3 up and running. i lifted all 3 out of 4 pads for the power caps :x Edited by chesterqw, 6 Sep 2009, 12:42 PM.

3 out of 4? I think your soldering iron temperature is way too high or you leave it in contact for too long. I had a bad experience with pad lifting when modding a ipod video and a diy amp quite some time ago. But we learn from mistake yeah

![]() Changed the power capacitors to Panasonic 3300uF 6.3v. They are of the same thickness as the sanyo capacitors but shorter. By-passed the power capacitors with Blackgates Hi-Q NX 0.1uF because I lost my red wimas but later found them in another pouch. The panasonic capacitors as pretty warm but sounds a little raw and laidback as compare to the Fm series which is engaging and warm. ![]() Focus on the capacitors ![]() Take a look at the bottom part. |

![]() My current and favourite combination as of 23/09/09. Upgrades from previous setup: Hi-C Buffers with Vishay Dale Audiophile Grade 0.5% tolerance 221 ohms resistors. (it's overkill, using a normal 1% tolerance resistor is in fact better because it is smaller and easier to solder on but yet with the same effect) The overall improvement is very drastic. Texture, full-bodiedness, soundstage and 3D feel drastically improved. |

A very nice sounding opamp combination for the P3/P3+ is: OPA1611 (single-channel) or OPA1612 (dual-channel) for LR, AD797BRZ as Buffers, (not ARZ) and bypassed grounds. (single dummy in center ground socket) Ron |

I using the D10 with ad744 in Class A. Without EL8201 as buffer, I lost all the bass impact and texture. I'm not sure if it due to the Class A or it the opamp itself.
i found one that fits and bought it.
