other than this forum, also surf some local forums like HWZ and apparently one of the members there highlighted that headphonehavn is giving away amps and such.while this may be good publicity for us, it gives us alot of dud members, people who sign up just for the chance of winning something there was a person who replied in that thread that he joined up, i think it was solely for the amp giveaway. so is it possible, that all future lucky draws like the lucky friday and such(excluding contests) the winners must have like say 50 posts and above? if he or she is chosen but do not have the required post count,i recommend we hold the prize, and give them a deadline to fulfill the required posts so instead of a lurker who signed up solely for freebies, whom i think is totally undeserving, why not impose such a rule? and once again, thanks for the admin and the sponsers for the lucky draws and contests!!

Yes i do agree with your point of view. However, if we impost post count requirements, there will bound to be more junk postings which will make this a harder job for the moderation team

true, but i cant bear the thought of people who have like 1 post of "hi i am blah blah blah" and getting the amp, while there are people who actively contribute and share, but cannot get what they deserve, its an injustice!!! but i guess it cant be helped? oh yes, coming to the topic of lucky draws, will winners say of the friday draw, be automatically excluded from future draws? or will their name be tossed into the fray again?

Here's a suggestion. To be eligible for the draw, one must have attended at least a minimum of 2 gatherings and been a member for more than 1 month. |

We are thinking of individual prizes for both tiers( Lurkers and Actives), the active members definitely gets the yummy one.

how are we going to separate lurkers from the active ones? maybe people who have been posting at least once for the past 2 weeks or something? does the host have such a function to filter out? i kinda like klose's idea though, member for a certain period and such.

Hi mrhobbit, The HeadphoneHaven's give away is a value added incentive to benefit our forumers as well as membership drive for our Forum. Do take note that most of the members do not join the members just the lucky draw itself. If these members have done so, they have greatly neglected the interest for the Forum community and members. If we were to put a participation limit for the Lucky Draw, like our Administrator has said; there will bound to have more junk posts especially for beginners who have just started out with not much experience to share. This forum is not like a game where you have better chance to win if you have more post counts. Furthermore, we do not want to condemn forumers with low post counts as 'freshmen' or beginners. These members might be more knowledged and experience than many of us do. To your topic on 'excluding winning members' from the next draws, I have to say that this is not logical. The Forum has 2 types of Lucky Draws so far, namely the "Lucky Friday Draw" and the "Impromptu Draw". Lucky Friday Draw is conducted for all forumers to have an equal chance to participate. All members are automatically eligible and enrolled in the draw. The Impromptu Draw is conducted for members present for the lucky draw; if you're in the right place at the right time. The Lucky Draw is transparent. Members will have the chance to witness the lucky draw taking place. Do note that members need not pay for the lucky draw and the Forum runs on free membership. The Moderating Team's decision is final. The Forum and our dealers have gladly sponsered prizes for the members.
We have not had a official gathering as yet. We also think that it is not logical to make our members to 'take attendance' when they turn up for the gatherings. Also, we considered the fact that some members might just meet the citeras and turned missing-in-actions. The Moderating Team is considering members to be present at our major draws (eg. Annual Lucky Draw..) in future. This also allows the chance for members to meet-up and interact in person. |
