Fake Sennheisers
Posted by ahdui (Administrator) at 22 Feb 2009, 02:05 PM. 2 comments
I have come across many cheap deals in forums, ebay auctions and etc. My word for you guys is... do not be tempted by the low prices they offer to you.
There are many cases of fake HD650 and 1 of the incidents which I've came to know off is the HD650 with HD600 drivers in them. Packages are totally genuine with warranty and accessories. The casing is also 1:1 similar but the drivers inside are different. There are also OEM versions that simply looks totally genuine but they just don't sound as good as the original ones.
Not forgetting the latest craze... IE8 where OEM versions are all around at cheap prices just like the famous CX300.

The Sennhaiser have some OEM&ODM factory in China. At beginning Senn have been entrusted the mission that IE8's produce to Factory A(masked name),but the QC of Factory A couldn't fitted Senn's standard. So Senn cancelled the order form. Now all IE8 made by another factory in China.
Then the Factory A produced some IE8(simple edition).Them informal products for sale recently. They aren't faked, however, the sounds different from the formal IE8.
Don't try it.

New Changes

Removal Of Sub Forums
I've removed the Anime and Consultancy Sub-forums because these two sub forums don't seem productive enough for me to retain them.
For Anime discussions, You guys can continue them in the "Chill Out Den"
Change Of Title
I've also changed "Slackers' Drome" to "Chill Out Den"
New Trial Sub Forum
Lastly, I decided to add this new sub-forum - Food Appreciation. We will see the response and decide whether to keep it rolling for the time being.

Important Forum Announcement

It’s interesting to note how a fairly innocuous post about “sponsorship” and “gratitude” to the Admin & Mods of this forum degenerate so quickly into hankering for more promotions, special offers and more dealers being added to this forum to add greater “variety”. And so the inevitable happens. <_<
I believe Ahdui (the Admin) & my fellow mods have quite clearly stated the main purpose of this forum. Permit me to reinterate: First and foremost, HeadphoneHaven is a discussion forum. It was formed for the express purpose for like-minded individuals (music lovers and their gadgets
) to get together to discuss, share tips and exchange information regarding their hobby. It was NEVER intended to be a buyer’s club, wholesaler’s club or a bazaar or market place for dealers to come in and hawk their wares.
Members should do well to remember that point above (highlighted in red for emphasis).
The dealers that are featured in this forum are purely incidental to this forum. The ongoing promotions & contests are confined to our registered members and serves as a form of reward to our members for their support and participation. They are never intended to be the main focus of this forum.
The dealers here have been personally invited by us to join the forums. They did not ask to be associated with this forum – we asked them. The 2 main criteria we used are:
1. They are reputable retailers
2. Their product offerings complement and are of interest to our members.
Currently, other than offering promotional deals and sponsoring prizes, dealers offer no direct financial support to us. That, however may change in the future – we shall see. And as you can see, they are subjected to strict rules and are kept on a very short leash indeed.
That Members of the Trade (as dealers are sometimes known in other forums) are subjected to stricter rules than regular members are not something new. Most reputable forums place restrictions on how and what their participating dealers can post. When the dealers do post, they post using their ID’s that clearly identify their status. Without these controls, forums quickly degenerate into anarchy and acrimony because of commercial pressures and the desire to solicit business by spamming and surreptitious “advertising posts” posted using other ID’s. That is also why we strongly discourage the posting of pricing information on the threads, and threads that “highlight” so-called promotions being offered in other forums.
We would readily admit that our dealer promotions may not be the absolute best deal in town. However, there is NO obligation for members to patronise the dealers. If they can find a better deal elsewhere, they are more than welcome to take their business there.
There have been calls by some members to add more dealers to our forums for “greater variety”. We are of course, on the lookout for dealers that can benefit our members and the forum – but on our terms. And for members who gripe about our dealer promotions and suggest that more dealers mean “getting better discounts” & “more competition”, we respectfully suggest that you are in the wrong forum. We have no doubt that there are several local forums with active dealer participation that can satisfy your desire for “variety” and “better” discounts.
So henceforth:
1. Posts about adding / nominating other dealers to this forum will be locked and / or deleted on sight.
2. Posts that mention specific dealer pricing / dealer quotes may be edited or deleted.
3. Posts by members that highlight / mention / or link to certain on-going promotions in other forums by other “dealer participants” may be deemed as advertising and subject to editing or deletion.
4. Suspicious postings in the Classified forums about “special deals” or “promotions” will be deemed as advertising and deleted.
5. Posts that directly challenge the decisions taken by the Admin & Mods will be locked and / or deleted. If you have something to get off your chest, do it via the PM’s.
We do understand that conditions may change, and the guidelines may be amended from time to time. Some members may feel that these are overly restrictive, and we can understand that. However, they are put in place to ensure harmony and the smooth functioning of the forum.
That is the way we run things here, and we respectfully request members to observe our posting etiquette and guidelines. Thank you.
p.s. I have been asked many, many times via PM as to whether I am Wilson, the proprietor of Jaben Networks. Now, I have no idea what transpired that gave them this notion. Rest assured, I am definitely NOT WILSON! I believe some forum members have met me in person, and trust me when I say this: We do not condone such tomfoolery in the forums.
